This crisp, washed community blend comes from the Pitalito municipality in Huila, Colombia. The name Spectacle Bear refers to the cheeky faced Andean Bear, native to the region - seriously, look them up, they’re very cute!
We’re tasting crisp red apple with a rich honey sweetness and a lingering Florida orange acidity on the back end.
The coffee growers of Bruselas cultivate their crops on small, traditional farms nestled in the steep, rugged slopes of the Andean mountains, each averaging just three hectares in size. Many of the tasks on the farms are carried out by families and more traditional coffee growers, where vital agricultural knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation. In more recent years, they have started to plant and experiment with more exotic coffee varieties such as Pink Bourbon, Gesha and more.
