After two glorious years, we are changing our House Espresso, DAYDREAMER.
We have spent this year cupping coffees from all over the world, picking the brains of our regulars and trying to understand how the tastes and habits of coffee drinkers are evolving as the speciality scene grows and flourishes.
We know why Daydreamer is loved and it was important to us to retain these core qualities in providing a smooth and versatile espresso that shines on its own and stands up in milk-based drinks.
After cupping enough coffee to power a small village, and after re-cupping that said coffee, the results of our blind testing were surprisingly unanimous. We were so excited to discover our chosen winner came from a farm that we've admired for years, who's traceability, ethics and infrastructure for direct trade have stood as an example for coffee producers globally -
None other than Fazenda Mió!
As many of you will know, these forward-thinking producers have made a name for themselves, revolutionising coffee farming through precision agriculture.
The team at Mió harnesses field data, captured throughout the farm, to track and optimise their farming practices, keeping efficiency and sustainability at the forefront of their operation.
They collect a diverse range of data ranging from soil composition and real-time harvest information to machinery efficiency metrics. This data helps them to adapt their practices, making decisions to best suit their crop's needs, always ensuring the right resources are placed at the right location at the exact right time.
Their methods of precision agriculture also help to foster social and economic sustainability within the local community and it's these very practices that align so well with what we believe in here at Elsewhere.
In uncertain times for coffee agriculture and the climate alike, we are overjoyed to partner with producers as transparent and as progressive as Mió!
Expect everything you know and love about the old Daydreamer, with some added caramel sweetness, a nutty complexity and a moreish, balanced fruitiness.
