Gitesi Washing Station is a privately owned station in Rwanda’s Western Province, established in 2005 by father-and-son team Alexis and Aimé Gahizi. After turning a profit in 2010, they steadily grew it into a sustainable operation now serving more than 1,800 local farmers. With a background in engineering, Aimé designed an innovative wastewater treatment system that has become a model within Rwanda’s coffee sector.
Through careful cherry selection, and precise coffee processing the team consistently delivers high-quality coffee. Gitesi invests in its community through farmer bonuses, free seedlings, livestock programs, health insurance, training, equipment support, and access to both organic and chemical fertilisers, it's also certified by CAFÉ Practices and the Rainforest Alliance.
