Mió - Minas Gerais, Brazil

Mió is the farm in Minas Gerais, Brazil where our house coffee, Daydreamer, is grown and begins its journey. Last year we witnessed first-hand the true precision and care poured into every stage of production, from the careful harvesting, drying and sorting of the cherries through to the thorough post harvest processes.

Daydreamer is sourced directly through Mió, allowing us to build a transparent, long-term relationship that connects our roastery straight back to the people and land it comes from. By working closely with the Mió team, we’re able to support a supply chain that prioritises fairness, consistency and shared values over shortcuts or short-term market pressures.

At Mió, regenerative farming practices sit at the heart of everything they do. The farm uses precision agriculture tools and real-time field data to guide decisions around planting, harvesting, post-harvest processing and resource use. This approach helps protect soil health, conserve water, improve long-term productivity and ensures the land remains viable for future generations to come.

Beyond environmental impact, these systems also strengthen social and economic sustainability by creating stable employment and supporting the wider local community in Monte Santos De Minas. Carlos has even started a scheme that helps steer local young people away from crime, giving them invaluable agroforestry skills, forging a pathway into further education.

For those who know the team at Mió, it’s clear how deeply they’re rooted in the land and how much love, care and respect they hold for the environment that makes their incredible work possible. Experiencing this connection with Carlos, Ana and the rest of the team was inspiring, humbling and even moving at times! (Not to mention the abundance of friendly dogs we had the pleasure of hanging out with…)

It’s safe to say that this was an unforgettable experience that not only connected us more deeply to the coffee we roast and serve but also to the people and land that make it all possible.
