This vibrant, purple fruit-forward washed lot comes from the southeastern slopes of Mount Kenya in Embu County, renowned for its rich volcanic soils, high altitude, and abundant rainfall. The name Kirimari, meaning “top of the hill” in Kiembu, perfectly captures the elevated terrain where SL28 and SL34 varieties flourish.

Sourced from the Gicherori washing station, part of the Kibugu Farmers Cooperative Society, this lot represents the work of about 1,200 smallholders, each managing 100–1,000 trees. Supported by 20 permanent staff and seasonal workers, cherries are handpicked, meticulously processed, and sun-dried. Gicherori prioritises quality, sustainable water use, and the protection of local biodiversity.

PRODUCER/S: KIBUGU FARMERS COOPERATIVE
ORIGIN: EMBU COUNTY, KENYA
ALTITUDE: 1600-1800M
